And they just weren't really coordinated the way they were before Mike Corona got elected.

And again, a lot of this was coming out in investigative reporting by the OC Weekly and Scott Moxley specifically.

As each of these things were going on, it eventually led to – and George Jaramillo also attempted to intervene in – Incidents related to Don Heidel's son, which also brought a lot more bad press, along with some of the things he was doing.

And Mike Corona fired George Jaramillo, his right hand man, his chief of staff and assistant sheriff.

It ultimately led to the investigation.

Now, the investigation was also somewhat started in our office and with the FBI and IRS on other related matters.

But a lot of what the ultimate investigation prosecution became started with a lot of what George Jaramillo and the OC Weekly were reporting that had taken place through the years between Mike Corona, Don Heidel, George Jaramillo and at the Sheriff's Department.

And so that's the background of the investigation.

But he was a journalist for nearly three decades.

He was the founding editor and publisher of the OC Weekly magazine.

He's a seventh generation Californian.

He's written extensively about California politics, business, media, religion.

I went back to Orange County, which is where using where I'd grown up.

And I was working for the OC Weekly.

I was a writer.
