Observation Point

Now, as promised, what's my favorite view in the park? It's not Angel's Landing.

It's actually Observation Point.

Observation Point looks down on Angels Landing.

It has the same view, but even better, down the entire length of Zion Canyon.

It's incredibly dramatic and not that many people go there, so it is not crowded.

You don't need a permit.

It is a little tricky to get to, though.

There used to be a trail up from near Weeping Rock, but that landslide that closed the Weeping Rock Trail that has since reopened is continuing to block the Observation Point Trail and probably won't be reopened anytime soon.
