Oblivion

Well, I've seen, you know, like, uh, obviously the, I haven't, I haven't actually seen the film yet, but in the Odyssey with, for Chris Nolan, I've saw, you know, they were just doing some crazy tracks to get some of those sequences with those IMAX cameras.

And then back in, the like 2010s era, there was the Joe Kaczynski film, the sci-fi film Oblivion with Tom Cruise.

And they filmed in Iceland, I'm pretty sure.

And there were some spots there where they were like way up on this mountain.

And then these are definitely underrated ones.

I have Oblivion, which is a Joe Kaczynski movie with Tom Cruise that has a 3.1 on Letterboxd.

And I gave it a 4.5.

I watched it last summer.

Agree.

He's in a movie called Oblivion that I remember really, really liking.

And I'd like to watch it.

And then, let's see, I can say the Tom Cruise movie I watched again most recently, which was Oblivion for the SpaceX.

We are going to start off, though, with Oblivion, also my most recent watch.

Again, this is a sci-fi movie.

You might see this and think it's, like, incredibly fresh.

Or you could have, like, that Obli- the movie, the Tom Cruise movie Oblivion.

You ha- maybe have that experience.

Because I remember when Oblivion came out, one of the biggest criticisms was this movie is pulling from every sci-fi movie ever made.

And I agreed with that point, but I also thought Oblivion, weirdly, through Joseph Kosinski, found its own voice.

Like, it had an atmosphere.

It still had an identity, is what I'm getting at.
