The problem, though, that people worry about and people have worried about is, well, what happens if your one stairwell gets blocked? That's why many buildings historically were constructed with other multiple stairwells in case during a fire one of them got blocked or for another reason could not be traversed, or there was a fire escape or something like that.

Well, I don't know if they actually mentioned the Crystal Pool last night, but questions have been raised as to why Oak Bay Rec Center, despite not being that much younger than Crystal Pool, is still going strong, while at the same time Victoria finds itself in the middle of a multi-hundred million dollar build for Crystal Pool.

Although, to Victoria's credit, at least it had a public discussion and a referendum on that instead of just finding a way to move forward and pretend the debt wasn't there, which is not something that should ever happen.

It was actually sort of twilight zone last night as Mayor Scott Goodmanson, before they vote for option one, the council approved the City of Langford Asset Management Plan and Long-Term Financial Plan, which by the way, passed with no opposition that I saw.
