O2 Apollo Manchester

So my first concert that I went to, and, um, this was, uh, September the 7th, 19- 1980.

I went to see Gary Numan play at Manchester Apollo on the Telekon tour.

I was 12 years old, and I can remember, uh, it, I, uh, it was a ...

My brother's four years older than me, and it was a friend of his from his year at school who my mum allowed me to go along to this gig with, 'cause I was only young.

Um, just talking about some of his music there, and if you're not familiar with Wade's music, please definitely go and check that out and go and check out his new album.

Um, but let's move now from Texas to Manchester because we were recently at Megan Rooney's show at the O2 Apollo in Manchester, uh, for the Cloud9 tour, um, and what a night it was.

I know that we've talked about Megan quite a bit on Countrywide UK over the last couple of years, and we've seen her career absolutely explode.

I think that was probably the seventh or eighth time we've seen Megan.

Because that used to be easy, didn't it? So, stadium band, arena band...

Manchester Apollo, that's how he always mentioned

it.

Yeah, yeah.

Yep

... at the O2 Apollo.

The following day, Saturday night-

Yep

Top five.

Twisted Sister, Manchester Apollo on the Come Out and Play Tour.

Anyway, slight diversion there.

Basically, what he's saying is, A, they don't get the respect, and I agree, and B, that they'd very much like to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and are pissed off they're not.

Yeah.

I tell you what, that 78 tour that we were talking about at the beginning, the one where I saw you for the first time with Subway Sect, there's a recording from that tour when it was at Manchester Apollo, I think.

There's a live recording on YouTube.

And goddamn, at some point, you should listen to it because you guys are so tight.

Ashley Sherlock is playing at Home Fair of Tavenham.

And then you'll find our favourite Phil at Megan Maroney at the O2 Apollo of Manchester.

Yeah, looking forward to that one.

And then moving on to Sunday the 27th, you have Bronnie at 45 Vinyl Cafe in York.

You can find that on the Death Above Life Deluxe Edition, which is due out on the 9th of October.

The band are going to be playing at the O2 Apollo in Manchester on that evening.

And they're also going to be at the Everton Apollo in London on the 10th and the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton on the 11th.

All October dates.

I've been going to gigs from quite an early age, from about 13.

Went to the Manchester Apollo and I saw Black Sabbath, saw ACDC.

I was too young to go to places like...

You know, where the factory and places like that.
