Nvidia Jetson

I was thinking about the analogy of, when you think about a, a car that's out there on the road already now versus in a new electric car, which has got all this, you know, modern technology and everything's vertically integrated and the software platform's all built off the same architecture, not across 100 suppliers like we see with older generation vehicles.

And I feel like that's like looking at an industrial robot now versus a humanoid, 'cause the humanoids have got these, they've got, NVIDIA Jetsons in them that have got this amazing technology in them that it's able to be upgraded whenever you like over the air, versus more traditional industrial robots that are stuck in a factory that may have over the air capability to program them up, but they just don't have that brain, the intelligence in it.

They don't have the Jetson in there that they can simulate and they can have all these modern advanced tools to make it iterate daily and improve daily or hourly, by the minute kind of thing.

We talked a little bit about the practical use cases for a humanoid, right? And say, hey, it's got wheels, it's gonna make it more efficient and it's gonna be able to pick up different jobs as distinct from a traditional robot that can't.

Yeah.

Edge AI, NVIDIA Jetson-based systems, orchestration software like their Asus Maestro.

Ah, so they're just making parts.

They're moving up the value chain to supply the complete physical AI platform.

So what was driving it?

Well, inside, they found an Nvidia Jetson Orin mini computer.

And that specific component is a widely available commercial product.

Yeah, you can buy one for just a few hundred dollars.

That's real research.

The recent activity shows they just merged support for Jetson Architecture, which is NVIDIA's edge AI hardware.

Jetson is used in robotics, autonomous vehicles, and embedded AI applications.

There's also a contributor validation path for Jetson support, suggesting they're building out a contributor community around this.

If you're in AI safety research, red teaming, or you work on the policy and alignment side of LLM development, this is a repo to be aware of.

It's controversial by nature, and it's not something you deploy in a production system, but understanding these tools is part of understanding the threat landscape that AI safety teams are defending against.

It's not as well known, but a big chunk of our business is powering enterprises, right? Powering retailer storefronts, helping retailers bring their business online.

And then started our in-store business called Connected Store, which is all about digitizing the store end-to-end, digitizing the shopping experience with what we call smart shopping carts, shopping carts with the screen, camera sensors, location sensors, NVIDIA Jetson board on each cart, which I know we'll talk about a little bit later from a physical AI perspective, but also a number of other product lines that digitize different aspects of the store.

So for example, Um, a product called food storm, um, which is another acquisition we made that digitizes the counter, uh, and the deli, um, software solutions for shelf tags, electronic shelf tags, um, that light up, that helps shoppers more easily find, uh, items on the shelf, a product called in-store mode that helps people plan their trip with an app on their phone before, uh, going to the, to the store.

And Really, the vision that we have is to take what users love about the online experience, personalization, the convenience, bring it into the store and really unify the two experiences together.

To be honest, that's the component that I'm more interested in, is the customer delight.

What does the future of commerce and shopping look like? But I want to touch on the actual hardware here for a second.

From what I understand, you have an NVIDIA Jetson model that powers this, an NVIDIA Jetson computer that's doing heavy lifting here.

And you mentioned this kind of multimodal capacity, right? So you have the weight, you have the camera or the scale of the camera.
