As you probably have heard by now, EWTN is really covering everything we can regarding the beatification of soon-to-be-blessed Fulton Sheen, Archbishop Fulton Sheen.

And to that end, we are covering the Novena of Holy Hours.

Here's a text we just received from an anonymous listener in California saying, Did Pope Pius XII make an arrangement with the German government in the 1930s that led to the rise of Nazism?

Short answer to that question is no.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is, is definitely important.

It was, uh, interesting because that was one of the first promotions that I ran through Holy Reels trying to promote and help people practice through Divine Mercy Chaplet, and also the Divine Mercy Sunday Novena was really important because I don't, I don't think people realize, you know, the indulgences that come with the novenas, and I think that's really encouraging and also exciting to know that you can practice for a period, you can learn your faith, and then also acquire this indulgence that helps to forgive your sins, which gives you something of a clean slate to be able to approach God with.

Because a lot of people are carrying this, like, heavy heart with all their sins.

They are scared to go to confession, but these indulgences are a way to kind of help alleviate that and allow them to feel, like, a sense of acceptance and feel cleaner, I guess, when re-engaging with the faith.

wisdom um you know hoping that when i need them uh that she'll assign them to me as she sees fit yep treasury of grace yeah exactly as folks know they can be assigned to a poor soul or to the person himself but not to another individual correct among the living Um, and as a result of which I've kind of been demotivated to perform indulgenced acts of an extraordinary sort, because my wheelhouse is, you know, 30 minutes of prayer in the presence of the blessed sacrament recitation of the rosary on some days, 30 minutes of sacred scripture.

I don't do the stations of the cross with great frequency, but your description of, yeah, the, the Novena anticipation of divine mercy Sunday or that, that special indulgence, it motivates me.

So thanks for that commendation.

And the beautiful part of it is, um, In the plenary indulgence, a lot of people don't realize that we can get one every day by one of those big four that we call it.

We've had to record speakers at various venues.

Again, this week, we're going to continue on with a talk given at the recent NOC Novena.

This one is given by Sheila Murphy and it's entitled From Mass to Meadow, Living a Faith Outdoors.

As you can see, it's a little bit to do with creation and so on and so forth.

It cleans our water, it pollinates our food, it provides us with medicines, It cleans our air and captures carbon.

It also gives us peace of mind by providing us with places to enjoy and embrace the freedom of the natural world, which as many of us know is so beneficial for our mental health.

The theme of this year's Novena is sheltered in God's love.

And it is when we're in the outdoors that many of us feel closest to God, sheltered by the beauty of nature.

First Day.

Faith.

On this first day of the Novena, we shall consider the faith of this holy man.

A lively faith is necessary in order to please God.

We believe every word which God has spoken by His Holy Church.

We don't contemplate the crucifix enough and we don't live the crucifix enough.

This is why Our Lady of Sorrows is such a powerful devotion that everybody should have a devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows, whether it be the Novena, whether it be the Servite Rosary.

Our Lady of Sorrows teaches us to consecrate our sorrows and to unite it with the suffering of Jesus.

Because our faith will bring us to cavalry, whether it be in the form of a illness, illness of a loved one, loss of material goods, you name it.
