Nostos

Odysseus can only have his homecoming with triumph in battle, and he can only have triumph in battle here with his homecoming.

Odysseus's Nostos and Cleos work together at the climax of the Odyssey.

On the same note, readers of the Iliad might be reminded of that work when they come to this final scene of the Odyssey.

It's only here where we get battle scenes reminiscent of what filled the pages of the Iliad.

And the Greeks have a word for this homecoming.

It's nostos.

Nostos.

It's a beloved word.

It's a part of a lot of words that we still use today.

Yeah

Which one was nostos? Nostos was homecoming? Kleos-

Triumph at return home.

Yeah.

Glory

... glory.

Nostos is the homecoming.

Homecoming.
