Norwegian Elkhound

I had had moderately to majorly insane Brittany Spaniels.

And I had had Norwegian Elkhounds and a couple of other breeds.

And I'm like, I love this breed.

They are... chill here and they, they're a little mental there, but they're, they're, they're super smart.

... basically walking with dog hunters.

From everything from Norwegian Elkhound, Swedish Elkhound, White Swedish Elkhounds, like, all the different moose breeds.

For some reason, I always got stuck on the moose hunting, right? Because it's the main big thing.

But what I've picked away from all that now looking back on it, n- when I decide, okay, I wanna get a dog, I wanna get a hunting dog myself, my question to myself wasn't, oh, which breed do I like? I, I started with, okay, what access to grounds do I have?

Yeah

... there's, I'm not gonna say zero work with the handler, because if you actively as a handler work with the dog, then you will have Swedish Elkhounds that does actively hunt with the handler.

But a lot of them just goes.

So the Finnish, a lot of Finnish guys try to do all the hunting trials with a young dog before they even start harvesting the moose.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So, so how a lot of guys would do with young baying dogs here, so Laikas, Karelian Bear Dogs, Swedish Elkhounds, Norwegian Elkhounds, they would, like, beg and plead for the hunting team they're hunting with.

And, like, for me as well, I normally call, like, hunting teams around the property I hunt, like, "I'm gonna run a young dog this year," with the hope or the goal that they will not just shoot a moose that comes in 30 miles an hour, just full steam ahead.
