Northern Tigers FC

The three-peat from MacArthur.

There was a penalty shootout with Northern Tigers from memory a couple of years back.

I think it was only two years ago they beat Apia on penalties at Parramatta Stadium.

So that was a dramatic day.

From Arpia Leichhardt, Mona Walker had a very good year this year for Arpia and...

We found a spot for her on the bench.

She was unlucky not to make the starting 11, but we found a spot for her alongside Bethany Gordon from Northern Tigers.

Had an excellent year when she came back to the NPL after her time with Canberra.

Western Sydney Wanderers with 50 points in fourth.

And then Northern Tigers in fifth on 39 points.

So there's very clear gaps between the top four and everyone else this season.

but also just clear gaps between those sides in the top four.

Um, the ...

Back to the good news just quickly for NPL clubs at least, St George FC staying up, managing a 3-1 victory over Northern Tigers, um, on Saturday night.

They went behind, managed to come back, Pat O'Shea getting a, a goal to put them ahead.

Two pitch invasions in the last 10, 15 minutes.

Their back end of the season form was quite good, and I think that's carried them over into these two games.

Were they a bit lucky? Potentially [laughs].

I'm, I'm surprised there hasn't been a bit more backlash about the disallowed goal for Northern Tigers.

I expected a bit more conversation-

There's some news that have been coming in from my sources, uh, during the week, and I've just picked one up now about, uh, an hour or so ago, um, while I was at work and, um, I, I can't quite believe it, but, uh, w- we'll get into that.

Um, look, the NPL 1, uh, there was a, uh, a second leg between St George Saints and Northern Tigers.

Now, the first leg for this promotion, uh, and relegation match ended up in a nil-all draw over at the Northern Tigers' home ground, and the second leg was over at, uh, Barton Park at St George Saints' home ground.

And the winner of this match here was either going to stay up in NPL or go up from NPL 1, and the loser was gonna drop from NPL down to NPL 1.

And the winner for this match here was St George Saints.

They beat the Northern Tigers 3-1, and it was a quite convincing performance I thought.

I don't think the Northern Tigers played as well as they did in the first leg, but, um, St George Saints did quite well and they came out on top in this match here, and we will be seeing them in the NPL competition for the 2027 season.

So well done to all the boys there and the coaching staff.

But, you know, very unfortunate circumstances for Arpia that Annalite wasn't available and has had her issues with injury this season.

Sophie Johnston, as we know, got sent off against the Northern Tigers.

Gulubovski is like a good 16-year-old keeper, but at the end of the day, barely just starting out in seniors.

And she played pretty well in some high-pressure games.
