Across the Northern Rockies, highs in the 40s, 50s and 60s this weekend will replace the midweek highs in the 80s and 90s.

The storm ushering in the cooler air will also spread scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the interior Northwest and Northern Rockies.

Anderson said that as the atmosphere continues to cool, rain will change to wet snow over the highest terrain, with a mixture of rain and wet snow possible at some intermediate elevations in Idaho and Western Montana.

I have some items of mild interest from history, September 10.

California will see mainly the 70s and 80s along the coast, the 90s inland, triple digits out in the deserts.

The northwest has a possibility of rain from Washington and Oregon into the northern Rockies, highs in the 60s and 70s.

And in Hawaii, Hurricane Lowell is a major concern.

Heavy rain, flooding, dangerous surf and strong winds are expected, especially around Kauai and Niihau.

Showers and thunderstorms will spread from the northern Rockies into the northern plains and upper Midwest.

with pockets of heavy rain and some localized flooding possible.

The southeast also gets another round of scattered storms and downpours, while monsoon moisture keeps showers and thunderstorms in the southwest.

We're actually looking at a likelihood of above normal rainfall extending from the Pacific Northwest through the northern Rockies, even through the northern plains and possibly the upper Midwest.

Also expect to see wet weather in the northeast and some limited wet weather associated with the monsoon in the desert southwest.

Really not expecting any drier than normal areas as we move into early September.
