Let's, let's go to another loss.

I, I told you last week, it doesn't matter what I pick, you should bet your mortgage, uh, on the other side of any game involving Northern Arizona.

That turned out to be the case again in a wild one, 49 to 44, Northern Arizona picking up the win over Montana.

Was this the best game in the FCS so far this season?

Uh, yeah, I, I mean, it's, it's hard to pick, you know, maybe, I don't know.

So, uh, it was, uh, an electric game.

Uh, a lot of momentum turns.

Uh, Ty Pennington was excellent for Northern Arizona.

Oh, you know what? First I wanted to, uh, recognize this, Coach Jackson.

Uh, North [laughs] Northern Arizona-

[laughs]

... uh, has a, has a, uh, a uniform reveal, and it, and they're sharp uniforms.

Idaho State has, um, played really well.

They were undefeated, then have a really, really tight loss against Northern Arizona, who's a really good football team, and the dude lost by a point last week against Cal Poly.

So, like- Dude, two tough outcomes in a row, but I really like their roster.

Jordan Cook at quarterback is really, really good player, okay? Now, let's flip over to the Weber State side.

And any time the other team gets matchups with linebackers, it's just like free money, man.

I mean, Montana adjusted a little bit to take away Northern Arizona's tight end after he completely destroyed them in the first quarter and a half.

But then that adjustment made everything else wide open.

So I don't know where they're at on defense, man.

I don't see a great fix.

Like I told you a few weeks ago, if they play like they played against UC Davis, they're not going to lose, right? They gave up 22 points against UC Davis, right? They didn't allow touchdown after touchdown after touchdown against UC Davis.

If they play like this, you're going to lose to Northern Arizona, right? You're going to lose to...

Northern Arizona, I don't even think is that good.

And that one, I watched about five minutes of it.

And the biggest play in the game was the play that I got to watch was the answer on the kickoff return for Northern Arizona.

So...

Do I think Northern Arizona is better than Montana? No, I don't think that.

But on last Saturday, they were.

Yeah.

That's kind of a, a little bit of a danger zone for me.

Montana, they really got humbled by Northern Arizona, but I'm not gonna ding them too much.

It's just that wasn't a game that they should have been losing.

They shouldn't have let Ty Bennington figure out who he was from last year and be a sixth tutty type guy.

So kudos, they get the, the head-to-head in that one.

And they did beat Utah State.

So ultimately, yes, probably a better resume, but like just their, their trajectory right now, like you lost to Northern Arizona, you lost to Cal Poly.

Like where does the skid end? 'Cause I feel like they're gonna lose to Weber State.

We have questions about Montana.

They whoop up on UC Davis, so they rise up, and now they fall back down [laughs] after the Northern Arizona loss.

Uh, now Northern Arizona is rising back up, and Tarleton, uh, you know, i- is, is rising back up the ranks.

So, uh, I just feel like you're seeing a lot of shuffling.

Uh, South Dakota State has kinda been the one consistent because they haven't suffered an FCS loss yet.

But if they get to at least seven wins, uh, usually eight is the magic number, uh, in a 12-game season.

But if they get to seven wins, uh, with these two ranked victories, the playoff committee has to give them a look.

And, uh, yeah, I just think you look at We talked about home field advantages in domes in Northern Arizona and in Idaho and Northern Iowa now.

Um, they host Central Arkansas this week.

Um, Montana was number two last week and lost at Northern Arizona.

Great football game there.

Tarleton went to Austin Peay and got a big win, forty to thirty-two, and I had Austin Peay in my top ten last week as well.

I'm intrigued to see how they perform on the red turf, but I think just from experience, I think that they will be extremely fired up and ready to go in that one.

I wonder if it could get ugly for Eastern Washington there, but we'll see.

Number eight, Northern Arizona.

What a win last week for them defeating Montana.
