North Wales Crusaders

And of course, the three teams that you mentioned or the four teams that you mentioned, you had Salford coming down from Super League.

You had North Wales Crusaders who'd sort of spent to get up to...

You know, they spent to get into the Championship and then didn't work out.

Yeah, there's another one who went bust.

But as you're saying all of these things, it makes me...

It goes back to times when, um, you had obviously the rugby union season here, and you had the Celtic, uh, Crusaders here.

And everyone would come off that train line, come straight from the train station, walk over here, watch the games, straight back into the town, and it would be full of people all the time, and that was my childhood.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Uh, uh-

The ch- the chairman at the C- the Celtic Crusaders?

Yeah.

Definitely I'll coming back." Left half me clothes there and everything, 'cause I just thought I was coming home for a few weeks.

And then, uh, got back, and then Chris Midgley told me to go to, um, North Wales Crusaders training.

There was a trial there.

He was like, "Go there.

Like even if you don't go, like at least...

E-even if you go and you don't get in, it's just a bit of extra training, but you'll be fine.

And then you're gonna stay fit if you go or wanna go back to Australia." I was like, "All right, yeah, sound." So, um, I was there for 12 months, and in my head I was going back, and then come back, ended up going to that trial and ended up getting on with Crusaders.

Short, short-lived.

Bridgend.

So the North Wales Crusaders had a bit of trouble last season.

Now they're going to sort of base themselves in Bridgend at the Brewery Field, ironically.

So a ground that's going to have Union and League playing in it.

Are you a cop? Once we got through all those, I could take them to Madrid, start a rugby league team today that would do better than some of the championship clubs.

Well, you know what's interesting about this North Wales Crusaders team this year? They had four wins for the entire year.

And probably got off to the best start for a team that had one of the worst records ever.

Because they started with a Challenge Cup win over Bedford Tigers and won 110-0.
