And since then, she's gone on to many high-profile roles.

None more so than being the elected member in the Federal House of Representatives for the seat of Bradfield on Sydney's North Shore.

Being the first person not to be a Liberal Party member, as well as the first woman to hold the seat, is a remarkable achievement.
