North Dakota Fighting Hawks

We'll see.

Then g- pick number four of the week, we're, we're heading to, uh, Northern Iowa as the Panthers host the UND Fighting Hawks.

No matter what outlet you look at, North Dakota is ranked top 10 in the nation in the subdivision across the board.

This is a 4:00 kickoff tomorrow afternoon.

So I'm like, "Ah, let's go.

Go Sioux," or Fighting Hawks, depending on your vintage.

Uh, end of the first quarter, so I hammer the h- North Dakota.

End of the first quarter, it's 21-nothing, Murray State.

He's an accurate passer.

That's Northern Iowa head coach Todd Stepsis on North Dakota Fighting Hawks quarterback Jerry Kaminsky.

who is going to be a big challenge for the Panther defense as they host North Dakota, the fourth-ranked Fighting Hawks coming to Cedar Falls tomorrow afternoon, actually playing on Saturday, unlike Iowa and Iowa State.

Kaminsky has passed for 198 touchdowns in his career.

What are they called now, North Dakota?

The Fighting Hawks-

The Warriors?

...

The Warriors?

No.

Fighting Hawks?

I think they're the Fighting Hawks.

Uh, and then UND scored 55 straight [laughs].

So it went from, like, uh, the most head-scratching deficit, uh, out there to all of a sudden a dominating victory for the Fighting Hawks.

And their schedule sets up where they played FBS Nebraska, but then their first five, I, I believe it's their first four or five FCS opponents were all unranked, and then they finish the year with, like, five straight ranked opponents.

So we won't know until next weekend just how good UND is when they host South Dakota State and then they play a string of ranked opponents.

But every year they ended the season outside the top 10.

Sure.

So it's kind of been a recurring theme o- a recurring theme of the Fighting Hawks getting into the top 10 with early season momentum, and then a second half collapse hits and they end up, like, 16 or 20, something like that.

So, uh, that's what I'm definitely paying attention to with UND is can they keep this momentum going as they start playing more ranked opponents.

No, that's fair.

But North Dakota at UNI, the Fighting Hawks are 11-and-a-half point favorites over under 57 and a half.

We saw the Panthers knock off Illinois State a few weeks ago here in the dome.

Can they get it done against North Dakota where -- which is getting a lot of hype, but I think there's a lot of people in the national media that said they kind of wanna see what the Hawks are made of.

To me that would happen

... how about the North Dakota Fighting Hawks-

Sioux

... making the trip to Bemidji State on a home and home I think, right?
