North American buntings

right so we can keep it rolling with the endemics here and i don't know if you saw this when you were in the region but this rose-bellied bunting i'll tell you what man these things gave us a total run around trying to get on them the first day uh it was like i don't know in my mind like 150 degrees it was sunny and we were in this scrub shrub habitat and windy as all get out i could not believe how windy this area was And we only saw one female rose-bellied bunting.

And if you know the species, really, if you know the genus Passerina, it's the same genus as indigo bunting.

The females are often brown with maybe a little bit of blue coming through in the tail.
