What's the showdown? Who you got? I got Norman North and Mustang this weekend.

So I'll get to see in person five-star corner commit for Oklahoma Gabe Osborne, assuming he plays.

He didn't play last week with an injury, so I don't know his availability for this week, but hopefully I get to see him.

You are starting something there.

Norman North and Norman High, Heart of a Champion Award.

Tell us all about that.

Well, ultimately for us at Alder Cheese, we are so incredibly blessed to be a part of the Norman community.

Day Eve, but also Game Day for us as well.

You are in Edmond, Edmond North, Bixby tonight, am I right?

That is correct, so...

He, he's a, he's run, throw.

He, um, as a senior at, uh, Norman North High School, he threw for 2,500 yards and 29 touchdowns, and ran for 1,300 yards and 19 touchdowns.

So, I mean, he's clearly a, a dual guy.

And I think here's the kicker, and maybe it scares you, maybe it doesn't, but he was also the co-valedictorian, uh, of his high school class, which tells me that he's got a level head on his shoulders.

Then they turn around and beat up on Owasso, who just won a state title somewhat recently, 43-22.

Norman North, 55-21.

And Memorial, 44-7.

Westmore, 61-0.

Obviously they rolled the dice and were rewarded versus, uh, LSU last weekend.

So this is a good Kentucky team coming into Norman, and, uh, we've got a lot from the Brent Venables press conference yesterday.

And, uh, really the, the headlining news, of course, was around Oklahoma's left tackle, Michael Fesusi.

So we can, we can, uh, bat that around throughout the morning, and, uh, don't forget Dusty Dvoracek, our number two, will be alongside with us, ESPN and, uh, Sooner great, Dusty Dvoracek right here on The Ref.

Hopefully, hopefully I get a good game.

I think there's a possibility we get a good game out of that, but yeah, just, you know, digging through some storylines that I'll weave into the broadcast and things like that.

It's not often that Norman North audience is, seen, sees Bixby.

So just trying to do a little bit more research.

Like, the way that they coach and everything matched exactly, like, um, how I like being coached and, like, what I learn best from.

And, um, also just, like, Norman as a whole, like the community here, um, is amazing.

And, like, it r- it actually did help us a lot, um, when we played Texas A&M and Texas.

Like, um, the community really showed out for us, and, like, the crowd's energy was, like, pushing us through.

Um, so I think that was a very cool thing to be a part of, and just Norman in general is just...

I, I love it here.

Mm-hmm

But I do kind of get the sense that there is one former Oklahoma target in the 27 cycle that's local that we're going to look back on his recruitment a few years from now, and we're going to think, man, it really does suck that OU lost out on that kid.

And I know you were on the call for Norman North last night to watch Ben Kolar catch three touchdown passes from Jackson Reed.

Yeah.

Kolar going to Stanford, man, over Oklahoma, choosing the Cardinal over the Sooners, especially when it seemed for a minute in time there as though the Sooners had the inside track to keep him home.

... watchful eye of Jason Witten at Oklahoma.

So maybe, just maybe, you don't really have much of a reason to look over your shoulder at what could've been with a guy like Kolar, but I have been really, really impressed with what I've seen from him as a senior, and he is markedly better than he was as a junior.

And in his junior year, he was markedly better than he was as a sophomore, when he kind of debuted for Norman North and was really, really good right off the bat.

So, love what Stanford's getting.
