Um, I saw this, uh, when I got to LA, and I thought, "Well, this seems quite up your alley," because you did like Langer's, and you do spend a lot of time, um, maybe not as much of late, but there have been periods of your life where you're, uh, pretty n- pretty nervous about if your garbage is gonna be handled properly.

And you have good reason to be, because you have had more issues with it than anyone I've ever met [laughs] considering you're very careful about it.

The owner of a popular deli in Westlake is worried his customers will be the ones paying for a giant hike in garbage fees.

It all started when the owner of Langer's Deli received his October garage garbage collection bill.

The charge had surged by more than 70% from the previous month, leaving Norm Langer facing nearly $1800 in additional costs.

Langer says the increase is due to a fee for a driver to unlock the trash enclosure five times a week.

He says he contacted Athens Services, the company contracted by the city of LA to handle waste collection in the area.
