No Mercy 1999

Terry Runnels as their wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous manager.

I was more than hooked on their series and more than hooked to watch their No Mercy 1999 ladder match extravaganza just to see the crash and burn, just to see the evolution of the ladder match, being able to be capitalized off the greatness that was Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels from 1994, five years prior at Madison Square Garden at WrestleMania X, just to see how this evolution could evolve their tag team careers and their singles careers.

But before we get into that, let's get into some newsletter blurbs for episode 502 for this next stop, ah, ah, ah, of the 2026 Halloween Havoc series.

Wade Keller dedicated the cover story to his respected journal, The Pro Wrestling Torch, dated October 23rd, 1999, was on Jeff Jarrett leaving Titan Sports for Ted Turner's World Championship Wrestling.

All this when his contract for Titan Sports ran out the day before WWF No Mercy 1999 as the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion.

Jarrett jumps to WCW, Ross blamed for loss.

Signs with WCW appears on Nitro 24 hours after his final WWF PPV appearance.

Jarrett and McMahon had a cordial conversation as evidenced by a posting on the WWF website on Friday.

Chyna, of course, and that is one of my-

Oh, it was the Good Housekeeping match.

[laughs]

The Good Housekeeping match, but they, they called it, you know, the kitchen sink-

Sure

... because the, the actual physical kitchen sink spot.

Nobody wanted to see that.

2002, Chris Jericho and Christian won the WWE World Tag Team titles from Kane and Hurricane on the go-home episode of Raw from Montreal before No Mercy.

October 15, 1973, Pedro Morales retained a WWF World Heavyweight title in a Texas deathmatch against Stan Stasiak at a house show in Madison Square Garden in New York.

On the same day, 1994, Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck retained the ECW Tag Team titles as Shane Douglas retained the ECW World Heavyweight title.

And so the seeds were first planted.

For, you know, for the WrestleMania 35 match between Triple H and Batista, which would be Batista's last match.

And so, of course, on October 17th, 1999, WWF presented its second No Mercy, you know, No Mercy event.

And, of course, this was known for the very first tag team ladder match between the Hardy Boys and Edge of Christian.
