Nissan Versa

A day that should have been spent celebrating with friends and family was instead a somber occasion.

On January 22nd, 2018, 16-year-old Jed left his home in Idaho Falls at around 2 a.m. and hopped into his 2009 Nissan Versa, equipped with camping and survival gear, along with a 9mm handgun.

Before leaving, he left his parents a note telling them he was going to take his own life and just like that, he disappeared into the darkness.

When Jed's parents woke up the next morning and went to the bedroom to check on him, they were heartbroken to see that his bedroom was empty and that the note lay on his desk.

On October 2, 2016, Breck went on a fishing trip on the Stanislaus River in the Stanislaus National Forest in Tuolumne County, California.

Unfortunately, Breck never returned to the shore and has been missing ever since.

According to reports, Breck's friend found his 2007 Nissan Versa parked along Highway 108, close to the Dunnell Vista Point.

The Donnell Vista Point is a trail in the Stanislaus National Forest that gives way to some of the most beautiful views in the park.

There was nothing out of the ordinary, but two cars needed to order very specific parts, and for one of them, the mechanic didn't write down the model year, which sometimes can be really important.

I got up from the desk and walked through the warehouse, looking for this gray Nissan Versa so I could confirm what part to get, but as I got to the end of the warehouse, I still didn't see it.

I sighed, knowing it had to be in the scrapyard, which of course was on the one day that it was raining out.

I went back to my desk and after a brief coffee break, I grabbed my jacket and flashlight and went to the back door.

In a Facebook post to the page Missing Jed Hall, his family wrote, 31 months gone.

$20,000 reward for information leading to finding my son, or for information helping me find the Nissan Versa he took.

Missing all that time we won't ever get back.

[chuckles] Uh, it's northern Canada we're talking here.

Uh, "I'm currently driving a 2008 Nissan Versa, which is on its last legs, and will end up in the scrapyard before winter.

I already own a 2024 IONIQ 5, but that stays at home with my wife, and likely doesn't have the range needed for this journey anyways.

I will, I will need to upgrade my Nissan Versa before this coming winter, which is only two months away here." And this is, this, this, uh, email is probably, like, three-- two to three weeks old.

Um, so even a shorter time period.

"So, I would like to find an EV that will handle this, but I'm, I'm not sure if this is even possible.

And then after the marriage, the two were blessed with one daughter, Eleanor Manzano Aguilar, and that happened in the early months of 2023.

Well, on April 11th of 2024, Ashley was driving the couple's Nissan Versa in Shawnee County.

This is just outside Topeka.

She had 15-month-old Eleanor strapped in a car seat in the back.
