Nissan 350Z

Welcome back to another episode of Dumb Shifts, where Quinn is actively trying to find a drift car on Facebook Marketplace.

Right now, we are between an E36, an E46, a 350Z, or maybe even a Fox Body.

Well, this car is ready to

starting to come around to it.

For the next one, I'm going to grab a drift car that we are considering in real life.

The 350Z.

I'm not giving anything away, but they picked interesting cars.

So like was one an XKR, the other one was a 350Z and then the other one was a...

Mercedes.

Merc SL55, an old one.

And, uh, I believe it was Christian Nelson, I think, I hope I'm remembering th- that name right.

It was a orange and white 350Z, it was, like, a pro spec car basically, and that was back when my car still made, like, right around 400 horsepower.

We had just finished the JZ swap, it was a bone stock 1J, and I was like, "I'm so overpowered right now, like, there's no way I'm gonna be able to keep up with this guy." We go into the turn one, and I get blinded by the smoke, and I go way off track and, um, yeah, that, that one moment was, like, both the scariest but also the most inspiring moment of my life.

'Cause that, from that moment on it was like that adrenaline I felt, the, um, eagerness to, like, succeed and do better is, like, that hooked me.

And yeah, I do a lot of their local events and stuff like that, as well as competitions.

I was in, uh, I actually competed, uh, a couple weeks ago at US Drifts.

They did, um, one of their Street League competitions, and I was competing in that in my 350Z that is a completely bone stock car that I use as my seat time car/daily driver, which is-

could, like I knew someone who had a Trans Am as a van.

A lot of 350Zs were taxed as vans.

It used to be, if you could fit a Euro pallet in the rear,

you could commercialize a car.

I was like, "Okay." So I jumped in the, the C12 S and drove, um, to Earls Court from, from Slough, which is always an interesting drive.

And, um, I [laughs] walked up there and there was the, I think it was the 350Z was at, the new car had come out at the time.

There was a, a Lotus, I think a, a Clat done in the golf colors.
