Nirn

Many spirits followed Magnus as he departed, becoming the Magna Geek.

Others chose to remain behind on Nirn so the world could survive.

Some of these spirits, remembered as the Earth Bones, followed the example of Ifri and gave themselves fully to Mundus, becoming the eternal laws that govern nature and reality itself.

Others refused to surrender themselves completely and instead populated the world.

These spirits became known as the El Nefe, the progenitors of mortal life.

Altmeri tradition teaches that the races of Nirn emerged through gradual diminishment.

With each passing generations, descendants became weaker and fully removed from the power and stature of their divine forebears.

Through this long decline, the first Altmer eventually emerged, and from them came the Altmer.

As always, my name is Mandar, so what a fun fact about Xbox, and since we're talking about the world of The Elder Scrolls this week, here's a fun fact credit to the gamer.

Did you know all of Nirn's continents? Because I certainly didn't, because the only Elder Scrolls game I ever beat was Oblivion earlier this year, and I didn't even really see a fourth of that game.

Many fans of the Elder Scrolls series know of the various provinces in Tamriel, but Tamriel isn't the only continent on the planet of Nirn.

While most of the planet is unknown and not fully explored, Nirn contains the continents of Tamriel, Akavir, Pandonia, Atmora, Thras, Yokuda, and potentially the unexplored Aldemiris Islands.

Each province contains the homeland of the more exotic factions like the Duner or Redgarth, with the Akivir content in particular being home to a race of tiger people and the Akaviri people, famous for Alduin's Wall and Tamriel's various ruins.

Again, this game will be absolutely huge when it releases, but it doesn't do much excitement for me at all.
