Ninth Doctor

Okay.

The Ninth Doctor, Christopher Eccleston, or whatever his name is.

Okay.

I'm going to go for...

Laugh.

Filling in where RTD2 failed to reach, they're releasing a special ninth Doctor adventure titled The Wash, starring Christopher Eccleston alongside Carol Ann Ford, reprising her iconic role as the Doctor's granddaughter, Scissor Menace Susan.

LAUGHTER As a festive treat for fans starved of holiday television, the audio drama will stream for free for a month on the official Doctor Who YouTube channel, starting on the 22nd of December.

Naturally, they will also be happy to take your money for CD and download versions.

The Doctor Who podcast will be returning with episode 431, and that will include some more Big Finish, since that is very much what's happening right now.

That one will return us to the Ninth Doctor and Rose series.

But also, James has acquired the memoir from RTD, The Queerest of Folk, and is in the process of reading it and hopes to have read it or read enough of it to be able to give a more considered review than those of us that are just picking up snippets from social media.

Excellent.

They are going to be putting an audio Christmas special called The Wash on on their YouTube channel starting on December 22nd.

It stars Christopher Eccleston, he what who was the ninth Doctor Who, and Carol Ann Ford.

You remember her from her unexplained cameos in season two of Disney Doctor Who.

Well, they're in a Doctor Who Christmas special Uh, via Big Finish.

cool.

Um, some big finished stuff before we get to the, the time lash, uh, false friends is out now.

The ninth doctor adventures false friends is out, uh, with Rose and other people.

And as they do with the new ones, 74 minutes is the duration.

Revolution in Space featuring the 3rd Doctor and Sarah.

Buried Threats featuring the 9th Doctor and Benny.

And Planet Doom

featuring the television movie Master.

A- and you, I think you even mentioned it earlier, about where, what the show might need next, whether a, a complete new refresh like you guys had in 2005.

I mean, you were continuing on with the Ninth Doctor, but it was for a new generation.

Mm.

And do you think now, moving forward, is that something that the show needs moving forward next?

Anyway.

Ooh, Christopher Eccleston and Carole Ann Ford to star in the Ninth Doctor's Big Finish Christmas special.

Oh, yeah, we're getting a Christmas special after all, Steven.

The Ninth Doctor and Susan bring Christmas to the Doctor Who YouTube channel in a new audio adventure.

How are you gonna be able...

You won't be doing this though because it's audio, innit?

And then I mentioned a bit later on about what he said at the panel, so...

All right.

So why am I doing the specials? Well, besides the fact that it's the newest thing, it's also a bigger thing.

Plus it's not just where I'm starting, 'cause next week I will be talking about season one, or the 2005 season of Doctor Who where, uh, the Ninth Doctor with Eccleston.

Which is a little bit longer than I was expecting, so it's gonna be a bit of an episode next week.

But I figured, hey, you know, Doctor Who has Christmas specials and whatnot, so why not? Why not do this? Though I will say that technically I should include the first episode of, of the new series in this, but I want to get to the newest Doctor when the whole season's out, which is going to be a while away.
