Perhaps nobody had even talked to Kris about Nils Jorgensen.

That was what I was getting out of it.

Hmm.

Even if our schools don't teach it, it's our responsibility as parents to make sure our kids know how and why our nation was attacked that day.

In April, I was listening to an Army of Normal Folks podcast where Nils Jorgensen, a retired New York City firefighter who was at Ground Zero on 9-11, shared his story of the tragic events of that day and knew I was supposed to reach out and ask him to be a guest on the podcast.

He did one better.

He said he'd come to my hometown and speak for free.

And he did.
