Nikon Z f

I'm a big fan of... disease system ergonomics.

But I have used the ZF quite a bit and I do like that camera as well.

And one of the things that I've noticed on all these cameras is where the actual shutter mechanism is, you know, or where the sensor is in the camera bodies and mirrorless cameras is a lot more forward than it is on DSLRs.

So, you know, if I look at my D750 here, There's always a marking as to where the sensor is if you're doing manual measurements.

where we had more of a design like a DSLR with the sensor a little bit further back like it is here, where the body can be thicker, because I think the industry has shown that people like thicker cameras these days.

They've gotten bigger and not smaller.

And so... move that sensor back, give me the F mount in the body, if it's technically possible, and give me a Nikon ZF camera with an F mount so I don't have to use the adapter.

And I know that that's maybe trivial.

Buyers backordered this fixed-lens compact camera for months and happily paid above MSRP.

Similarly, the Nikon ZF remains incredibly strong, even though it shares a sensor with other heavily discounted Nikon bodies.

As industry observers point out, design and user experience absolutely outsell specs.

A fascinating trend is emerging.

Uh, what have we got going on? Uh, I actually had a chat to Sam Olsen about this today, 'cause she did pick up a Nikon Zf as her B-roll camera.

Um, but, uh, Nikon have officially announced the development of firmware version 2.0 for the Nikon Zf, which will bring OpenGate, uh, coming in 2027.

It's not even coming out.

OpenGate.

But that's the age we live in right now.

And also while we're at it, my Nikon ZF, which is a full-frame camera, has really great sensor-based image stabilization.

It works really well.

and then my long lens for it also has optical based image stabilization and they work together so i have to tell you that you know there's a lot of situations where we used to need a tripod that we just don't anymore because the technology is so good in our cameras plus on top of all that i really like traveling light and working fast And I know a lot of people like tripods because it slows them down and they better compose their shot and take more time and do border patrol, looking at all the different corners of the frame of their shot and making sure everything is just right before they press the shutter.

Both photos are shot on the Nikon ZF and the Voigtlander Apo lenses.

So this photo is a picture of a park ranger doing sweeps from...

Oh, there's the ranger.

They, they know that for sure, like it won't be silver.

So to me, that's more like the retro look, like the Nikon Zf, like the Fuji X100 type series.

Yeah, when you said the, the silver thing yesterday, it never clicked in my brain, and then it was like, "Oh yeah, silver equals retro."

Yeah.
