Yep.
Justin CastlesHOST
58:45
And I wonder if there's been maybe, 'cause there's gotta be, at some point, there's gotta be a Z 9 II and then Z 8 II coming 'cause they've been out for how long? When's the N- when did the Z 9 get released? When did the Nikon Z 9 get released? December 24, 2021.
Justin CastlesHOST
59:10
Oh my gosh.
Justin CastlesHOST
59:14
No.

Greg CromieHOST
65:53
Uh, "Howdy, gents.
Greg CromieHOST
65:55
Uh, this past Saturday was a day of roller derby for my household, and after skimming through the photos quickly, I pulled three out to share.
Greg CromieHOST
66:03
Uh, these were all photographed with the, uh, aforementioned Nikon Z 9 and the Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR S Z-mount lens." Nice kit.
Justin CastlesHOST
66:13
Hmm.
Liz SaundersHOST
16:36
that reminds me of someone or some people actually little one big one
Claire JonesHOST
16:45
so I for 18 years I've shot Nikon and I've loved them to bits but my Nikons are getting a bit long in the tooth this one it was one of the launch cameras when the Z9 came out and it's all getting a bit long in the tooth And I've been waiting patiently for Nikon to bring out the new generation of camera, and they seem to be going down the video route, which is lovely, but not me.
Claire JonesHOST
17:18
So I started researching alternatives and came up with the, for those of you who like this sort of thing, the Sony A1 Mark II, which is this.
Claire JonesHOST
17:31
and the Z9...
Claire JonesHOST
17:34
Very compact, ladies and gentlemen, very compact.
Claire JonesHOST
17:38
Very compact, yes, it is...
Claire JonesHOST
17:41
Yes, so the solid, the Z9 can track, but this is in, it's almost like it's a different sport.
Claire JonesHOST
17:49
So, of course, where I went, oh, was when Henry picked up the ball in the depths of the 22 and was running back, and he ran through a group of players.
Jim WilkersonGUEST
38:26
The motion doesn't react fast enough.
Jim WilkersonGUEST
38:28
In fact, Nikon with their Z9 has introduced a motion sensor that's native inside the camera.
Jim WilkersonGUEST
38:35
They announced it with some guys doing some BMX bike work.
Jim WilkersonGUEST
38:39
And again, the motion's just too quick for the rockets, for the camera to react.

Jim WilkersonGUEST
58:11
I always keep spares, but the Z6 IIs and the Z8s, those are the smaller, the Nikon EN-EL15Cs.
Jim WilkersonGUEST
58:20
Those have gotten better, but I'll typically need to swap those out.
Jim WilkersonGUEST
58:23
The Z9s and the big D6 and DSLRs, the EN-EL18 batteries, those will run all day without.
Jim WilkersonGUEST
58:31
I might get late in the day to swap a battery, but the battery capacity on the pro-level big DSLRs is really, really good.
James ArteusHOST
2:35
So let's say $30-ish camera.
James ArteusHOST
2:38
So it's clearly not competing with a Z9.
James ArteusHOST
2:42
It's probably competing with the Kodak Chandra and those lads.
James ArteusHOST
2:45
Yeah.

14 MINS LATER

James ArteusHOST
16:51
He just gave it to me because I bought the bag.
James ArteusHOST
16:53
But I think he drank the Kool-Aid or whatever and dismissed that system unfairly because...
James ArteusHOST
16:59
As a mirrorless system compared to like the Z9 or Z8 or whatever today.
James ArteusHOST
17:04
Yeah, of course, it's no match.
Justin CastlesHOST
63:28
As in...
Justin CastlesHOST
63:30
The Z9 Mark II, I might have to eat my hat after saying this, but I don't think the Z9 Mark II is going to be leaps and bounds better than the Z9.
Justin CastlesHOST
63:42
The Canon R5 Mark II for me was a noticeable upgrade from the R5.
Justin CastlesHOST
63:51
Has it allowed me to do anything I couldn't have done with the R5? Really, really over a long time horizon? No.

it's cool that is cool it's very cool and speaking of cool we have one more and tonight it is our last images from richard male single image hello friends uh another week another portrait sorry that's what i do never apologize for what you do uh this is from a shoot last thursday and the first of my new series photographing photographers this is nelson a landscape photographer from melbourne Same editing style as always, as it brings me joy and is similar to my musician series, but with photographers.
Greg CromieHOST
123:23
I'm enjoying putting those so comfortable behind the camera well and truly in front of one.
Greg CromieHOST
123:28
This was shot with a Z9 from Nikon, a 35mm 1.8 Z at f8, 1 200th of a second ISO 640.
Greg CromieHOST
123:37
Thanks for taking a look.
Liam GoodGUEST
0:02
Rock on.
Liam GoodGUEST
0:03
My primary body is a Nikon Z9.
Liam GoodGUEST
0:06
Yeah, Nikon Z9, Z9.
Liam GoodGUEST
0:08
That's why he works out.
Liam GoodGUEST
0:10
That's, I have to.

46 MINS LATER

Liam GoodGUEST
45:45
I shoot on the Nikon system.
Liam GoodGUEST
45:47
Rock on.
Liam GoodGUEST
45:48
My primary body is a Nikon Z9.
Tom MasonGUEST
1:49
...
Tom MasonGUEST
1:49
I, I generally shoot the, um, the Nikon Z9, Z8, um, my favorite, my 300 2.8 I've had for years, um, 600 F4, and then kind of 24 to 70, 70-200, all of that.
Tom MasonGUEST
2:00
So e- every lens from probably about 10.5 mil to about 600 plus the teleconverter is what I use.
Tom MasonGUEST
2:07
But these days I think I've switched more from, I started doing a lot of, like, long lens stuff, and now I would say my long lenses are kind of, like, 20% of the work rather than what they were when I started.
Jared PolinHOST
33:59
So I'm not saying you shouldn't map shit out for when you're shooting birds and you want different types of focusing modes.
Jared PolinHOST
34:05
I will tell you the Nikon, I got a Nikon guy who was like, "Well, because of Nikon's 3D autofocus in the Z9, I use that on the back button, and on the front I use its dynamic area AF," or whatever the hell they call it.
Jared PolinHOST
34:16
And I'm like, "Yeah, that's a Nikon problem." You shouldn't have to split your, your autofocus at all on, on any other system
Stephen EckertHOST
34:24
Yeah, so I do still go from like subject detection to the old school like locked f- focus box points.
Jared PolinHOST
14:36
Someone says this is like a Z9 thing next.
Jared PolinHOST
14:38
I would like to point out that on a Nikon Z9, the back button focus actually makes the camera faster and more responsive.
Jared PolinHOST
14:45
No, no, your camera sucks.
Jared PolinHOST
14:47
Your camera doesn't suck, okay? But the auto focus is not as good as other cameras.
Jared PolinHOST
15:19
And then I bailed.
Jared PolinHOST
15:21
And not once did I ever use back button focus as my primary shooting capability.
Jared PolinHOST
15:28
Mandatory, but on the Nikon Z9, you can use a hybrid technique called AF on recall, which is significantly faster than traditional back button focus.
Jared PolinHOST
15:36
Instead of just turning off the shutter button focus, you can just customize to map different AF area modes to different back buttons.
