All right, hike number two we are going to rate is our hike along Lake Shuzhenji, which is up in the Nikko area.

Specifically, the trail we did is the Mount Hangetsu Trail.

You can find it on all trails, if you're familiar with that app and website.

Okay, background.

Nikko... is a famous city in Tochigi Prefecture.

It's a popular day trip from Tokyo, but it's going to be a little bit further from Tokyo than Mount Takao.

You can get there in a couple hours from Tokyo, but it's going to take some additional time to get out to this lake and do this hike.

So definitely don't be intimidated.

And if you are intimidated, um, for whatever the reason, and you're going over there to go fishing, I'd highly recommend hooking you guys up with our friends, Hiro and Takashi at Nikko Tenkara.

Hiro basically took us door-to-door fishing.

He picked us up in Tokyo, took us out to Nikko to go fishing, and that's really, really great to have them along to kind of show us the ways and give us little tips and tricks.

Yeah, I can't speak to fishing in Japan in general, but I kind of asked Hiro and Takashi while we were there and yeah if you're not going like with with them that and they can take you around i mean my understanding is you kind of have to get a get a car which would be you know driving the other side of the road and stuff like to get out to the rural areas and to get to the streams the public transportation in japan is great but i think for fishing it'd be it'd be kind of tough i don't know if you talked to them about that at all mike or matt but

Not particularly, but I have to agree.

It was definitely fun.

And we had a great time there.

The leaves of maples, azaleas, oaks and other trees in the Lake Chusenji area have turned brilliant hues of crimson and gold.

The area, part of Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, is situated at an elevation of about 1,200 meters.

Tourists from around the world and across Japan were treated to magnificent views from aboard a boat plying the

lake.
