I always wanted to do genetics.

And then I quite remember as a resident rotating through the pediatric oncology rotation, I sat once with a senior colleague of mine, Dr. Anihat Salifu, and she was asking me like what my future plans were.

And then I looked at her and I'm like, well, it's not going to be oncology.

I want to do this.

And then through that, able, are able to convince other parents, um, to bring in their children to hospital, advise them that childhood cancer is actually curable when detected early.

Um, and so that idea was born.

I discussed with my mentor, I discussed with my colleague, Dr. Gloria Tego, who is always buying into my crazy ideas, unfortunately.
