Nigun

Today's shiur in Tehillim are Kapitlach, Ayin Beis through Ayin Vov.

We will now listen to one of the Nigunim, which were made in honor of the Rebbe Ziyam Oledes from Shidol HaMelech Beit Tzivet Hashem.

You can sing the words of the Tehillim together with the Nigun.

Yifrach b'yom otzadi, veray shalayim adliyareyach.

So darfst du sehen, connecten zu-- der Riesen, warum man singt beim Davenen.

Auch bei der Chassidim singt man, kommen in die Nigunim, ist connecten Menschen zu die Davenen, a bissl mehr, mich haben sie mehr.

Sie, äh, trachten die Wörter mehr, whatever.

Es ist, du hast a Riesen, warum man macht es.

So das, diese Nigunim kommt connecten Menschen, wo sie sind sehr, sehr weit.

Ich meine, es kann sein eine schöne Sache, wenn der Chazan singt any Nigun.

Es vielleicht ziehe a gewisse Tam, wo es magari nicht mehr kann von der andere Singer.

Das Rosh Hashanah und Jom Kippur.

After Yom Kippur, the Rebbeim would not just have a piece of cake and then rest from the long and hard Avodah of the day.

They were careful to wash and eat a real Yom Tevseudah, including singing Nigunim and saying Divrei Teirah.

In Bir Tfilah we will learn about the fifth and final Tfilah of the Holy Day of Yom Kippur, the Tfilah of Ne'ilah.

The word Ne'ilah means to lack up.

Um, yes, and until today, we have these dynamics of Hazzan and the congregation, and the Tsibu.

And there's also the question of music, of course, which is, uh, there are the old Nigunim, and there are new, uh, things that, uh, new melodies that, uh, uh, some people try to, to sing the, the piyutim or parts of the, of the prayer, uh, according, uh, to them.

Um, so and that, that's, that's also a [laughs] fascinating topic.

At the end of each Yom Tiv we make a Farbringin, so the Kedusha of the Yom Tiv will also come into the week.

The Rebbe said that on Rosh Hashanah we should sing the Nigunim from each of the Rabeim, starting from the Baal Shem Tiv, and say something about each of the Rabeim.

Why? By saying something and singing the Nigin of each of the Rabeim, we connect to them.

This helps us in our Ravaides Hashem in general, and to bring the special chayis of Rosh Hashanah into the regular days of the year.

[chuckles] It's a bit of a cute joke.

You know, in, um, what do they say? In Megillas Esther, there are some psukim that we read with the Nigun of Eicha.

So why do we read-- I-- Because they talk about Chorban this time.

But why do we read with Nigun of Eicha? So the joke answer is because we want even Litvaks to have Simchas Purim.

So they, they, since they're, since they're into Eicha more than us, that's how we do it to give them some Simcha.

So I don't mean to make Purim that way.
