Nightjars

And Nighthawks, they, they're, also to back up a little bit, Nighthawks are in the Nightjar family, along with Whippoorwill and Chuckwill's widow, things like that.

They're not a hawk at all, even though they kind of have a falcon-like appearance.

And they have the tiniest little bill, but their mouth opens really wide and they have bristles bordering their open mouth.

As two night birds watched, the bloody rays congealed into bruised colored shadows and ultimately scabbed over into post-mortem darkness.

Nightjar and Magpie were perched on the peak of a mausoleum roof.

Their dark feathers glimmered faintly in the pus-colored moonlight that oozed through the clouds.

They had many places in Nevermore Hollows where they would perch and watch the strange and often deadly occurrences that were so prevalent in the town.

One was that when folks were brave, or stupid enough, to enter the graveyard at night, the Doncar twins would awaken and ensure that the graves were not desecrated in any way.

If so, they would take revenge with the most exquisite brutality.

Of the strange and terrifying creatures that haunted Nevermore Hollows, Magpie and Nightjar especially loved the Donkar twins, who had died in 1899 at the age of 13, because they were the most interesting and tragic of them all.

They were conjoined twins who shared a distorted pelvis, resulting in that they only had three legs.

So a nighthawk is

the same as a nightjar?

Well, a common Nighthawk is in the Nightjar family.

Is that right? Yeah.
