On the sunlit world of Lagash, reporter Theramon investigates an observatory's prediction that a rare eclipse will bring the planet's first true darkness in 2049 years.

It is Dimension X Nightfall, broadcast by NBC on September 29, 1951, the 50th and final broadcast of the series.

Ernest Kenoy adapted Isaac Asimov's 1941 story with Lyle Sudrow as Theramon, Cameron Prudhomme as Dr. Aton, and John McGovern as Dr. Sheeran.

As Sorrow City faces public disbelief and a religious movement focused on the stars, Theramon follows the developing story to the University Observatory.
