From below, the Night King watches the battle unfold, seeing his forces making little progress.

From a distance, hidden among the shadows of the icy cliffs, the Night King watches with cold, calculating eyes.

His lips curl into a cruel semblance of a smile as he observes the circumstances.

At first, they try to resist with different houses trying to fight them off.

But this is a grave mistake, as no matter how many wights they slay, they are helpless to the Night King's endless horde.

Instead, they realize with growing dread that this is not a war they can win on their own.

Ned Stark rides hard through the smoking ruins of the North, leading his army back to reinforce the Wall.

They fjord the river on the backs of their own fallen, an unstoppable tide of ice and death.

Tywin arrives, the remains of his legions forming a desperate battle line, but it is too late.

The Night King himself rides into the fray, the chill of his presence enough to freeze steel in men's hands.

Tywin fights to the bitter end, his golden lion banners soon swallowed in the abyssal cold.

As the battle rages, a terrible cold sweeps over the battlefield.

The dead freeze in place for a moment, and then part, making way for the Night King himself.

His blue eyes burn with ancient malice, drawn to the sword that Jaehaerys now carries.

But then a horn blows in the rear as the Night's Watch suddenly appears from the forest.

They rush forward with a battle cry.

The three scatter and rush at him from three sides.

The Night King strikes his ice-forged blade, crashing against Lightbringer in a collision of fire and frost.

The impact sends shockwaves across the battlefield.
