Mm
ReniGUEST
44:11
... investing in the NGX.
ReniGUEST
44:12
Not that there's anything wrong with the NGX.
ReniGUEST
44:14
Lots of people make money.
ReniGUEST
44:15
Nigerian Stock Exchange for those who may not know.
Tobi AdekeyeHOST
48:44
Yeah.
ReniGUEST
48:44
Yeah.
Bode OdetoyinboGUEST
48:44
But I, I, I wouldn't, uh, uh, do anything other than, uh, leave it alone and think about what have, what have I been looking at on the NGX that is now ...

Good evening.

Welcome to today's NGX daily market summary.
speaker_0HOST
0:03
Here are the key points.
speaker_0HOST
0:05
The All Share Index fell by zero point one six percent today.
CharlesHOST
3:49
Do I see any questions? No questions so far.
CharlesHOST
3:52
Um, can we have the NGX Corporate Disclosure Portal? Let's see.
CharlesHOST
3:56
It's a bit touch and go, this portal.
CharlesHOST
3:59
Uh, you can see they're doing some maintenance work, but I hope they conclude it on time.
SenkuHOST
10:57
I mean, when we got to this zone and we bounced again.
SenkuHOST
11:01
And what were the index that drove the ASI up? I'm going to start with NGX, oil and gas.
SenkuHOST
11:11
So today we're just going to drill down based on technical terms.
SenkuHOST
11:16
I'll leave you the fundamentals for my own argument.

CharlesHOST
78:03
Nigeria is like a low-hanging fruit.
CharlesHOST
78:06
You don't need any, because I'm still like wondering, everybody, oh, the NGSD, like, what is that stuff that NGS has really done that has transformed this market? Like, I keep asking, not trying to show that to anybody, what is that revolutionary thing that the NGS did that everybody is now rushing to the market? All the market operators have contributed to the fact that you can now use your app to buy shares, right? And then you can do IPOs from the NGS website, which Sabi Invest does, which Africa Prudential does, which APR Registrar does, which both of these registrars, they all do it.
CharlesHOST
78:50
So like, what is that revolutionary thing? What is the roadmap for the NGX? Where are we? What is the plan? Where would the NGS be in five years, 10 years from now? What are the plans to get more people interested in investing? Was the Dangote Refinery not a good opportunity to make life easy for most people to tune into Nigeria? So we have to wait for another Dangote to come and do something before we get everyone sensitized? But it's easy to claim everything.
CharlesHOST
79:33
Oh, everything has panned out well during my stay.
CharlesHOST

all right good morning everyone it's morning on my end welcome to today's free market video this is the last free market video for the month of september today is the last trading day for the month of september so what do we have uh so far let's go see let's start with the tech analysis side of things at the ocean index is uh fell slightly yesterday but that was due to the dip we saw in uh cement largely I believe and maybe to a smaller extent GT code so the ocean index closed at 251k uh 251 thousand nine hundred and thirteen business points we're still a comfortable zone uh key support you put up 240k resistance 251 so we're actually closer to the resistance levels and support levels Now, I brought out the NGX Bank because I was curious.
CharlesHOST
1:02
I would have dipped in some of the banking stocks.
CharlesHOST
1:04
I wanted to see what the NGX Banking Index is doing.
CharlesHOST
1:09
As you can see, we are also close to the resistance levels.
CharlesHOST
1:12
Resistance is 2,755 and support is 2,317 basis points.
CharlesHOST
1:20
So at 2,727.8, which is where the NGX Banking Index closed yesterday, we're actually very close to resistance levels now.
CharlesHOST
1:30
most likely break break above that resistance zone i said black fell in london yesterday close at 7.83 pounds uh i've put the key support at 5.92 pounds but you can actually drop this or increase this to 600 uh uh british pence or six pounds right so when you go to the surplus ta is neutral but we continue to watch it carefully in the sense that Because of geopolitical tensions, one day oil is up, one day oil is down.
CharlesHOST
2:02
We've been seeing oil down.
speaker_0HOST
1:05
Second place was Jijico, with 5.26 billion Naira water shares traded.
speaker_0HOST
1:11
I think the most important news story so far is UAC informing the NGX that it had entered an agreement to sell its stake in livestock feeds.
speaker_0HOST
1:22
So it's going to sell its stake in livestock feeds for a cash consideration of 19.5. uh billion that amounts to eight naira 55 couple per livestock uh feed share now this is entering into agreement so of course it hasn't been executed yes you have to inform uh the industry regulators uh before you get into uh into into such a a transaction yeah so we also had a similar notice uh from livestock feeds because uac is the or cost shareholder in livestock feeds.
speaker_0HOST
1:59
Livestock feeds also had to inform the NGX that it's been informed by UAC that UAC will be selling 73.29% stake in livestock feeds to sunbed tree nuts and sesame limited that's sunbed transaction of course is subject to receipt of our regulatory approver so that's pretty much the key item we had for the ngx i thank you for listening and see you in tomorrow's uh tomorrow's going to be a busy day most likely we'll have a video of stanby guy btc uh h1 numbers most likely would have, of course, we are actually going to have a live 9 p.m. West African time tomorrow, Thursday, the 1st of October.
speaker_0HOST
2:48
So I hope you join us by then.
speaker_0HOST
2:50
Have yourselves a lovely rest of the day.
speaker_0HOST
4:31
So that's pretty much what we've had so far, ladies and gentlemen.
speaker_0HOST
4:37
See you tomorrow's coverage of the NGX and we'll be keeping an eye on things.
speaker_0HOST
4:42
The time is 5.46 p.m. You should be getting this audio summary in a few minutes.
speaker_0HOST
4:49
And then the video will be up by 7 p.m. West African time.
speaker_0HOST
0:36
While on the value side of things, uh, Fidelity Bank took pole position, uh, with ten point six billion naira worth of shares traded.
speaker_0HOST
0:44
Uh, before we go, ladies and gentlemen, let's just check the NGX corporate disclosure portal to see if there's anything major, uh, that we need to know.
speaker_0HOST
0:54
So, uh, nothing much to see here.
speaker_0HOST
0:56
Uh, nothing much to see.
speaker_0HOST
1:10
Other than that, we have a couple of, uh, companies, uh, giving notice of, um, board meetings and all that.
speaker_0HOST
1:16
As you know, um, towards the ending of October, uh, you're going to have companies, uh, dropping their Q3 numbers.
speaker_0HOST
1:25
Most firms on the NGX run from January to December calendar year.
speaker_0HOST
1:29
So, uh, Q3 is July, August, September, and the, the rule at NGX is, I think about thirty days after your last quarter's closed, you're supposed to drop your results.
GeorgeGUEST
22:14
Right?
RufaroHOST
22:14
... it's not the ZSE's job to promote their competitor, the Nigeria Stock Exchange.
RufaroHOST
22:20
It's the stockbroker's job to increase their business by giving their customers access to more markets.
RufaroHOST
22:27
It's not ZSE's job.
RufaroHOST
22:28
It's not VFX's job because the Nigeria Stock Exchange is their competitor.
GeorgeGUEST
22:31
No, no, but the thing is, actually, um, it, it doesn't quite work that way.
GeorgeGUEST
22:34
Like, if you think about some of these, um, cross-border products, right? Like, um, the FML ETF, for example.
CharlesHOST
0:58
i think we'll remain comfortably between 250 248k and 250k what's case scenario but you know things can also flip i mean if you have one or two big moves in surplus who knows it's pushed to the 255k zone in any case ta summary is a buy and so what else do we need to pay attention to surplus has been on the chair if i let's see if separates i think london market should be open by now so let's see what seplat is doing in london at the moment so you have any questions you can drop them uh this live run till about 10 minutes past nine um and then after that we have to we have to go off because it's it's uh it's a what it's a monday morning i have to get get to work so what's the plan doing at the moment children at eight 6.67 pounds down by 0.35 percent but let's let's see it's it's wrong hard as you can see in the chat this is surplus in the last one year separate has run hard uh dipped dipped here um and then resumed this run seems to be dipping but the question is where is your next support zone would it be somewhere here would it be here so let's see how it goes in the day strange session Surplus Nigeria made history last week, close at 16K.
CharlesHOST
2:28
This is the most expensive stock by unit price on the NGX at the moment.
CharlesHOST
2:33
Question is, can we see 17? I think we can see 17 or 18 within the next maybe one or two weeks.
CharlesHOST
2:41
In any case, as you can see, Surplus London, Surplus Nigeria, same company, just different exchanges.
