amazing and how does that work when there is a publisher in the mix how do you partner with the publisher not overlap on marketing

Well, I always sort of say, I guess my role is going out to traditional media.

So I think a lot of publishers, they're all over it when it comes to getting book reviews and in literary magazines and things like that.

But they'll do the marketing, which is quite different to say, I come in and I will create, I'll read the author's book and do a lot of research about them.

And sometimes, you know, often it's for me, it's finding the great angles that we can really pitch to the media.

And that is often looking into the author's backstory and especially if it's a nonfiction book.

Who are they? What have they done? What are the stories the media is going to want to hear? What's going to cut through the noise? Because it's so, it's tough.

And can you share an example of one of your favourite book campaigns? An example

Did you find that they were easier to settle into because of that?

Um, yes.

Yes and no.

I mean, both Hong Kong and Singapore, as you say, they've got hundreds of thousands of expats, but, but then a lot of them have their own groups and cliques already.

So I find, [laughs] like for example, Xi'an, when there were only like 1,000 expats, you, you need friends, so you're looking out for each other more.

Um, so in that way, um, you know, while Xi'an, it might not seem like, you know, it's not as welcoming, the people there, because a lot of them had never even seen a Westerner in Xi'an, so they were extremely fascinated.

You can imagine, I've got a, a three-year-old pocket rocket with blonde hair and-

What was it like coming home? Was it just like slotting back into your old life, or was it different?
