Nicole, what is the definition of a traumatic birth?

Traumatical births can look different for everybody.

You know, because you're in the middle of such an intense experience, you know, moms can have different things that come up from and have come up within the stories that you said today, you know, of worry of injury or death or something happening to themselves or to their baby.

And they take that with them after the birth experience, and it just stays with them.

But different people can bring, you know, trauma can look different for different people.

It can look like regret of how they went ahead with their birth plans.

A very beautiful, wonderful birth to one person, to another person may not be that way.

How do you suggest I deal with that and help him?

For your own practice, do you have any boundaries or expectations when considering care for a woman with a breech baby?

You know, isn't it the same as with any family you're going to show up for, really? You know, which is just a little bit more because of the social situation and the cultural hold, right? It's more like, is this family the right family to show up for? I mean, because the thing is, it's not just about the consent and them deserving to have someone show up.

It's about Consent is relationship.

And so how do we learn to come into relationship with another person? And one of the drawbacks of breach a lot of the time, and I've heard this from colleagues of mine, like there are doctors I've worked with, is the late to care approach.

You know, is that last minute, especially for midwives, right? Like so much of what I do is about relationship building so that we trust each other when it comes down to the birth.

And a lot of breech people aren't seeking out new providers till the last minute.

So that's a big challenge.
