Nico Muhly

Right.

And, like, I don't know a ton about contemporary classical music, but I can sit and listen to Music for 18 Musicians, which was introduced to me by Nico Muhly once on, on Bullseye long ago.

And I can appreciate it even as a person who's not super into the context, who doesn't know all of the context, because it's beautiful a- and, and mesmerizing and melodic in ways that are very accessible.

Yeah.

... at Howard's End.

Do you remember, like, you know, N- Nico Muhly's score-

Yeah

... and Hetty MacDonald's direction-

We had to go right back into it because this topic fits perfectly with, uh, other conversations we had in season four.

Um, and so our guest today, Nico Muhly-

The genius, I think? Nico Muhly.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm

...

Nico Muhly.

There's a Canadian composer named Carolyn Lizotte, who's been doing so much for decades and has, uh, wonderful harp solos with electronics and with orchestra and different things.

And, uh, Nico Muhly, who is a New York-based composer, has some wonderful chamber music.

I mean, there are just so many people, it's, it's almost hard to start naming them 'cause you don't wanna leave somebody out.

Um, but yeah.
