first thing that was identified as the Nicktoon was Flat Cat.

It was a one-page comic in the first Nickelodeon magazine.

But that was the first place they used the word Nicktoons.

Then I started working in THQ, doing a bunch of Nickelodeon games.

I saw a bunch of Nick Tiles, Avatar, Nicktoons, Marvel,

but also other licensed stuff like Need for Speed in there as well.

These are all great in different ways and beautiful.

But this particular generation of television, the Nicktoons block, the Klasky-Csupo titles, the Warner Bros. library productions, they sit in a window that closes behind them and doesn't open forward.
