Um, they did make sure, they did make sure that the money wasn't coming out of our, um, out of our ODOT funds, our Department of Transportation, so, you know, roads and bridges will continue to be repaired and built, um, irregardless of the gas tax holiday.

Yeah, that was my next question.

Huffman and McCauley dismissed that idea and say the focus will be on the tax holiday bill.

Senate Minority Leader Democrat Nikki Antonio says she will vote for the gas tax relief bill because it will help Ohioans and because Acton has called for a tax holiday.

But Antonio questions the Republicans' motivation for introducing the bill now.

I do not believe that they are suddenly have woken up to the fact that Ohioans are suffering.

Late Monday morning, she had called for a temporary gas tax holiday.

Then a few hours later, her main opponent, Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, rolled out a plan with legislative leaders to provide a gas tax holiday.

And here's what Acton had to say about that.

Look, I'll work with anyone who wants to solve a problem instead of make one.

And, you know, we're running for office right now, but this will be something that our legislature on both sides of the aisle really needs to come together quickly on.

There are a lot of ways you can approach this, but consumers and Ohioans need relief now.

Ramaswamy and legislative leaders then had a press conference Wednesday morning to talk about that plan.
