Nick Hague

He drives into the middle and somehow turns one on two into a partial break for himself.

And Nick Hague has to take a penalty by holding him.

So the Habs get a power play, but the power play looks atrocious.

It has to get better.

Jack Drury will draw in as the centerman on line number four with Ross Colton on the left and Adam Edstrom on the right, and that is the forward group for the Preds here this evening.

Nick Hague, Roman Josi, they've been skating together basically, uh, all but the, the first game.

Roman with three points on the year, one goal, two assists, and, uh, Nick Hague on the other side.

Brady Skjei, Nick Perbix will be pairing number two.

William Trudeau, the Montreal native, will, uh, play his first game in Montreal alongside Adam Wilsby, and those are the defensive pairings here this evening, uh, for the Nashville Predators.

[smacks lips] Uh, the refs will be Cody Beach and Kendrick Nicholson.

Linespersons Caleb Apperson and Jonathan Decham- Deschamps, uh, will be the officials for tonight's game.

And the starters for the Predators, Maverick Bourque, Jonathan Marchessault, a couple of French Canadians, with Reid Schaefer, and then Roman Josi and Nick Hague.

Here goes Matheson at the center with Philip Deneau moving right in on Roman Yossi who's getting the start on the blue line tonight.

Captain of the Nashville Predators is Pair it up alongside Nick Hague as the Canadians go into their own zone with Alexandre Carrier.

Some tons of Quebecois content here in the starting lineup on both sides tonight as Matheson spins in behind his own net for the first line change of the night.

Matheson feeds it up the far wing.

This is in memory of our friend Erin Doneck, Willie Doneck's wife, who passed away last year and made sure everyone knew that they were awesome and they rocked.

And similar to what the Doneck family went through, we have another family in the Preds crew that went through a cancer battle within the last year, and that is Preds defenseman Nick Hague, who his wife Ally was diagnosed with colon cancer little over a year ago, right as he was transitioning from Las Vegas to Nashville.

And this summer the Hague family stayed in Nashville.

Ally continued her treatment at Vanderbilt Medical Center, and she rang the bell this summer.

And those of you who have loved ones with cancer know that this never really ends when you ring the bell.

She's still receiving treatment and care, and it's still going well.

But Nick Hague was very frank about it in training camp, and we wanted to make sure we asked him about it on Preds radio.

So here's Preds defenseman Nick Hague and the Hague family winning our Big E Awesome People of the Week.

Who's Josi paired with?

Uh, he started the year with Ryan Ouffko, uh, who is now in Milwaukee, and then Nick Hague the last couple games.

Hold on.

You start a guy with Roman first game, and now he's bounced to Milwaukee?

[laughs]

You know? And so, um, and [laughs] and it was funny, like as I was writing the ceremony and stuff, I was texting a few of the other guys like Nick Hague and Keegan Kolasar who were in the wedding and, and I, [laughs] I texted them in, in the beginning of the summer when I, I really started to like sit down and write it and I just, I told them, I'm like, "I think I gotta lay off Zach a little bit.

I'm just like [laughs] I'm just, I'm just, just absolutely ripping this poor guy." And they're like, "No, double down." They're like-

That's really funny

And it's like, good grief.

Like, what are we doing out here with the defense core? Look, I mean, they're trying Nick Hague with Roman Yossi, and they're kind of bouncing all these different combinations around.

You know, Purbix had a couple moments that weren't good last night.

They're just a mess defensively.

Like, just strictly on

paper? Maybe.

And again, like, some of this is also, like, they've given Nick Hague all this money and he's been...

He looked like Ben Harper out there the other day.
