Nice, Nice, Very Nice

They want to be loved by...

Robots need love too.

They want to be loved by you.

They want to be loved by you.

They want to be loved by...

Robots need love too.

They want to be loved by you.

They want to be loved by you.

And, um, my first records were kind of that and um i made a record in 2009 uh called nice nice very nice and that record changed my life particularly in canada and in europe you know kind of went from playing to 100 people to playing to a thousand people you know seemingly overnight but it was you know over the course of that year 2009 2010.

And about six months after Nice, Nice, Very Nice came out, Mumford & Sons big sort of landmark, you know, world conquering album came out.

And what they were doing was sort of like a more anthemic pop arena filling version of what i was doing and so i was immediately sort of lumped in with that band as being part of their movement and i remember feeling pretty jaded about it sort of like no i'm like you know my record came out first you know don't don't say i'm copying them kind of thing um and uh And I really ran from that whole singer songwriter arena folk thing.

And I was sort of, I had a bit of a knee jerk reaction to it, probably to the detriment of my career in many ways.

So,

you know, I've been quoting Vonnegut a long time.

And yeah, and just to clarify for listeners why we went there, nice, nice, very nice was a line from Cat's Cradle.

So in case people were like, why are they even talking about this?
