Simple idea, big melody, and a message that landed squarely with country radio.

Now, the band didn't write it.

Now, Marty Rabon's soulful lead and the band's smooth harmonies made it instantly recognizable.

Ironically, though, it almost wasn't released as a single until strong live reactions convinced the label, and then, of course, radio followed quickly.
