This week, ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz talks about some of the heroic veterans she's met while covering the U.S. military and what their service can teach us.

She sat down with San Francisco ABC 7 news anchor Dan Ashley at the Commonwealth Club in May of 2026.

It really does.

You've listed all of these exciting things that you've explored and career changes, but what is something that you think has not changed with you through all of these different things of your life? Like when you think of Carrie Lee and you don't think of like the news anchor or the contractor, like anchors you that keeps you having such a zest for life.

Yeah, I think confidence as well as curiosity.

I think that if there's a fountain of youth, just keep asking questions and be curious and go try things.

And that wasn't fun, but then that kind of went away.

And then the organ it started attacking was my skin.

But as a news anchor, you can cover a lot up, but it attacked my neck and my face.

Have I ever shown you guys the photo? Oh, I will before I go, because you really have to see it to really understand why that's a career ender.
