And so there were groups, especially of Egyptian Muslims, who were very keen on the radical elements that the Egyptian government had absolutely forbidden from meeting.

And so they were fomenting, well, effectively, um, anti-governmental slogans, and the New Zealand government and the New Zealand Muslim Association became very nervous about this, and in consultation with the police, shut the mosque down for a couple of years, which is quite a striking story when you think about it.
