Officials have not been able to confirm yet whether the people taken to the hospital were inside the restaurant or in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

And Detective Nicholas, uh, Gordoni of NYPD's Emergency Services Unit, he climbs up hundreds of feet elevated above the East River, and he's begging this guy to come down and drop his knife, and there was some impressive verbal exchange going on by this detective.

Detective, uh, Gordoni desperately pleads with Bottom, or bad guy, g- because he's not being compliant, for around 50, 5-0, minutes asking, um, you know, the, uh, this, this guy hanging off the bridge, you know, to, to come down.

At one point in the footage, the detective begs this guy to come back toward the middle of the bridge rather than hanging off the side of it, and toward the end of the encounter, the detective sees this guy's weapon, and then he says, "Hey, drop it." Um, and, uh, the knife-wielding guy is seen raising the weapon, and he's lunging towards the cop, uh, with the cop yelling at the bad guy to drop the knife.
