And that's because we saw this movie and we're like, they're the worst.

Anyway, welcome to the end of Sextember 4 play.

where we discuss all the sexy sexploitation movies released by New World Pictures.

And joining us to close out yet another chapter of Sextember is the co-host of the Sin Syndicate podcast, Casey Scott.

And by that, I mean compared to King of the Monsters 1956, which was the Americanized version of Godzilla in 1954.

The funny thing is, Return of Godzilla works as a direct sequel to Godzilla '54, and this one, because of what New World Pictures decided to do with it, is basically a direct sequel to King of the Monsters '56.

That's where the extra cost is coming from.

So a Toho spokesperson complained that the best they could get from an unnamed studio, I'm curious which studio made them this, uh, you know, was willing to at least talk with them about this amount, it was gonna be about $2 million, so less than half of what they were hoping for.

Well, when it was all said and done by May 1985, the best offer, the best legitimate offer they got was from New World Pictures.

So Jackie Coogan Released the film In 1983 With it being filmed in 1979 Film was purchased by distribution by New World Pictures.

They edited it out 15 minutes.

New World then put an 80-minute feature time on it.

So calling it an 86 movie released in 87 basically covers it.

It came from New World Pictures.

That puts this bizarre little movie in the orbit of the company famous for exploitation, horror, sci-fi, and cult filmmaking.

And New World had distributed this movie.

and we're in the midst of september four play Well, we're going to talk about all the sexy movies released by New World Pictures because there's nothing more comfortable than talking about sexy movies with your brother and your wife.

And we've got a nearly new world to talk about in this episode.

This is a movie that was nearly released by New World.

After studying communications and journalism at Simmons College, Denise began her career in publishing and broadcasting journalism before transitioning into film.

As executive vice president of production at New World Pictures and later founder of Denovi Pictures, she helped bring to life more than 40 films, including Focus, Crazy Stupid Love, as well as enduring classics such as Heathers, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Little Women, and the beloved Practical Magic, which has spawned the long-awaited sequel.

Her producing credits also include acclaimed adaptations of Nicholas Sparks' novels, A Walk to Remember, The Lucky One, and she made her directorial debut with Unforgettable at Warner Brothers.

Beyond the worlds of film and television, Denise turned to painting as a means of healing after the loss of her husband in 2020.

That doesn't really happen today.

They did not have an overall deal.

But I went on to have Um, and oh, from that company, I had a tiny little deal at new world pictures at the time, um, that made Heather's with Bob Ramey.

And, uh, and I then got, uh, through that, I met through Heather's, I met Tim Burton and we had a deal at Warner brothers and I had a deal at Warner brothers for 27 years.

It, it definitely was a change.

First of all, you know, the culture around Roger Corman, New World Pictures in the, in the mid...
