And so sitting, again, I found myself sitting behind a laptop and reading articles.

And although I learned a lot, it wasn't as... uh i guess stimulating for me and so i uh didn't really enjoy that year so i came out of that year and i was a little bit um probably confused as to what i should i would do next and um you know i had a number of things that i wanted to to do and i ended up actually doing um a paramedics course so i was down in um i went to a uni in bathurst here in New South Wales where it was a combined kind of university degree where you were at uni for your courses and then you had a practical element within New South Wales Ambulance.

And that was down in Bathurst, which was a bit of a shift for me to go and move down there from Sydney, which for everyone, it's a four or five hour drive from Sydney.

And so that was, you know, I was 22 at the time.

That was Jules Whitton on this podcast three years ago, and on the 6th of December, she is racing Ironman Western Australia.

Jules is a paramedic with New South Wales Ambulance and has been a shift worker for, what, 21 years, Jules?

Yes.

That's a long time, so she-

I was quite proud of that.

And I could see also working for New South Wales Ambulance that it did strengthen the Royal Flying Doctor services and reputation, I think, as being able to

provide high quality critical care services.

And I think one of the most satisfying things I have done over the years and still do is the teaching mentoring.
