New Orleans Film Festival

I can't wait for you guys to see the film.

And, you know, obviously the New Orleans Film Festival.

to be opening Nightman is going to be incredible.

So thank you guys so much for just giving us not only a platform to talk about our art, but just the sacrifices you guys have done for the festival and also for the show.

Very geeked out to share this episode with all of you listeners because I actually had the pleasure of seeing this film at the Black Star Film Festival.

And I am so pleased to be able to sit down and talk to the director of this incredible documentary called called black zombie trust me when you see this film it's going to blow your mind we are sitting down with maya annick bedward maya is an afro-caribbean canadian film director whose work blends history resistance and pop culture through bold genre-bending storytelling Her work has been screened at TIFF, Hot Docs, Black Star, and the New Orleans Film Festival.

And her credits include short films such as The Haircut, Why We Fight, as well as TV series such as Lido TV and Black and Origin Story.

She's also a founding member of the Black Screen Office that helps promote stories that center Black creativity and power.

And this next one, well, this next one's older than usual.

It played 2014 New Orleans Film Festival.

So we're going to begin with that.

It's my least favourite of these, but as I say, it's still great.
