But this really begins, it appears to me, with the system itself in New Jersey.

As you know, the applicants were registered to vote even after they acknowledged that they were not citizens on the Motor Vehicle Commission form in New Jersey.

The front end of the system relies solely on the attestation of citizenship without any further verification.

That's a problem for election integrity, it was to me.

New Jersey recently acknowledged

that about 6600 people were registered to vote even after they answered no on the citizens citizenship question at the Motor Vehicle Commission.

At least 340 then went on to vote.

The state found the defect in June of 2024 and then left the registrations in place and said nothing publicly for two years.
