New Haven County

Lindsay Marie Musgrove was born August 11th, 1990.

Grew up in Wallingford, Connecticut, a mill town in New Haven County that made silver.

Wallingford is where the Wallace silversmiths and international silver money came from.

A company town that turned into a commuter suburb.

I had just started freshman year in Connecticut where I grew up.

Um, you know, but so I grew up a hundred miles from New York city in new Haven county and my folks are from long Island, Nassau county.

So we were kind of like a tri-state family.

Like my mom's sister moved to New Jersey.

Right away.

We had like no afterschool activities for like a week or so.

Um, you know, it was, things went to get, things went back together fairly normal and in new Haven County, you know, you're at the end of the commuter line.

So we didn't necessarily have, so the sense of town by town, the experience would have been very different.

Connecticut, or I need recommendations of a contractor for this, or could be anything, any ask, you got to be specific about what you ask.

Super specific is don't just ask for a contractor, but ask for a contractor in Monroe or in New Haven County in Connecticut.

So the more specific you are, the more people are willing to help you.

And to be honest, I have found my best contractors on social media.

through our office, school, home, and community-based programs, as well as through our coordinated prevention efforts.

And as you alluded to, we are really excited to announce that just as of this month, we welcomed the Family-Centered Services of Connecticut, which is a nonprofit that's been serving New Haven County for nearly 50 years as our newest member of our family and is now a division of Bridges Healthcare.

This unification now offers 30 programs and services across Greater New Haven, and we've expanded access to trauma-informed care, behavioral health treatment, domestic violence services, care coordination for complex needs, and family-centered interventions.

But we're still delivering all of the mission and programs and services and person-centered care that our communities already knew and trust from both organizations.

So Saybrook Colony was where Yale was kind of thought up and founded, but then eventually Yale was created in New Haven Colony, and New Haven Colony was a separate colony from Connecticut Colony at that time.

So the New Haven Colony had land in what is now New Haven, uh, the, the New Haven County, what's now still New Haven County, and it also had land in Long Island, which is now Long Island, New York, and even as far south as Philadelphia.

Um, so there w- it wasn't a colony the way we think of a state today where, you know, usually aside from, like, what, um, Alaska or maybe, um, I don't know.

Most states, or Michigan would be really the only example.
