Nevşehir

The landscape stretches in every direction, dry and golden in the last of the light, the sun dropping behind ridgelines that seem to belong to another world entirely.

This is Cappadocia, in what is now Nevşehir province, Turkey, and the terrain here is unlike anything else on the surface of the Earth.

It looks as though the planet tried to build a city of its own, millions of years before anyone was around to notice.

To the east, the snow-capped cone of Mount Ertaş rises to 3,917 meters.

Transportation-wise, you could fly into either Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and then you have three different airliners to choose from from there.

And you could either fly into Kayseri Airport or Nevşehir-Kapadokya Airport.

So the region is located between these two regional airports.
